The German, who won gold in team dressage last year at Beijing, has been ordered to appear before a disciplinary tribunal Thursday.

Berlin -- Five-times Olympic dressage gold medallist Isabel Werth has been provisionally suspended from the sport after her horse returned a positive doping test, Germany's equestrian federation said on Wednesday.

The German, who won gold in team dressage last year at Beijing, has been ordered to appear before the International Equestrian Federation's disciplinary tribunal which is expected to decide on Thursday whether to confirm the suspension.

Werth was riding 10-year-old gelding Wallach Whisper at an event in Wiesbaden when the test revealed the presence of fluphenazine, a banned stimulant. The 29-year-old said she would exercise her right to demand analysis of a second sample from the horse.
