German energy giant RWE to cut 2,000 jobs: report
German energy company RWE is planning to cut 2,000 jobs at two subsidiaries as part of a restructuring plan, a newspaper in the western city of Essen reported on Wednesday.
RWE, Germany's number-two energy company, is due to release its third-quarter results on Thursday.
An RWE spokesman would not confirm the figures, but said it was looking at moving a certain number of older employees into part-time positions, WAZ newspaper reported.
The job losses would come at subsidiaries in Essen and Dortmund, the report said.
