German 'cut-and-paste' minister to quit: Bild
German Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, stripped last month of his doctoral title after accusations of plagiarism, is to resign later on Tuesday, the Bild daily said.
Zu Guttenberg, under pressure to quit since the scandal broke, has already informed Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Christian Wulff of his decision, Bild said, without saying where it had obtained its information.
The suave 39-year-old aristocrat, who has been dubbed "Baron Cut-And-Paste" and "Zu Googleberg" by the media, is one of the most popular ministers in Merkel's government and his departure would be a blow to her.
Contacted by AFP, the government was not immediately available for comment but the defence ministry said that zu Guttenberg would make a statement at 11:15 am (1015 GMT).
