German arrested in Spain on charges of abusing minors
A German accused of sexually abusing at least four minors, including his two children, and of posting pictures of the acts on the Internet, was arrested on the Spanish island of Majorca, police announced Wednesday.
The 32-year-old suspected paedophile "proposed to other padedophiles to have sexual relations with his children and those of his girlfriends," according to a Spanish police statement.
The man was arrested after a video circulating in "paedophile circles on the Internet" showed him "sexually abusing four minors aged three to nine" in a boat cabin and in a home.
Investigators discovered that the victims included the man's two children and that the video was shot in 2008.
On the video, the German, who used the nickname "Cooldaddy", was seen giving his email address so "interested persons" could contact him.
When he was arrested, the suspect had a video camera and a memory card with several videos showing him abusing his ex-girlfriend's daughter aged six or seven, police said.
The arrest prevented the suspect from carrying out plans for new sexual attacks on his children during the Easter holiday, police told a press conference in Majorca, which is home to many German residents.
