German activists return from Israel: ministry
Six Germans who were on the ill-fated Gaza-bound aid flotilla raided by Israeli forces have left Israel, the defence ministry in Berlin said Thursday.
"The six German citizens have left Israel for Turkey. Our representatives on the ground have made contact with the Turkish authorities and are making every effort to gain access to them," a spokesman said.
Berlin said Wednesday that the six, including one who was injured, were being detained in Israel.
At least 11 Germans were on the boats which were raided Monday by Israeli commandos leaving at least nine people dead. Five, including two deputies from the Die Linke party, a former deputy and a doctor, had already been deported.
