KUWAIT CITY - Germany's Interior Minister Otto Schily arrived in Kuwait late on Sunday for a two-day visit during which the two nations will work on boosting ties, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The German minister was received at the airport by Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheikh Nawaf al-Sabah and other officials. During Schily's visit the two nations will sign a memorandum of understanding on security issues. The ministers are also slated to discuss the easing of entry procedures into Germany by Kuwaiti nationals.

Schily's visit is a follow-up to the visit by German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder in late February and early March to the emirate, which initiated a policy of improving ties between the two countries.
