French, German finance ministers to meet Tuesday
The French and German finance ministers will meet Tuesday to discuss how to implement measures to tame the eurozone debt crisis agreed by the two countries' leaders, a French spokesman said.
Finance Minister Francois Baroin will meet his German counterpart Wolfgang Schaeuble for talks on how to "put into effect the ambitious decisions" made by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Chancellor Angela Merkel, the spokesman said Friday.
Hoping to ease the pressure from hugely volatile markets, Sarkozy and Merkel vowed at their summit this week to give the 17-nation eurozone a "true economic government" which would more closely coordinate economic policy so as to fend off the debt crisis.
