Frankfurt airport profit surges 18.4 percent

1 March 2005, FRANKFURT - Airport company Fraport reported on Tuesday that it achieved record group profits of EUR 136.4 million in 2004, up 18.4 percent on the year before. The owner of the international Frankfurt airport along with several smaller airports in Germany and abroad, said earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) reached EUR 281 million, up 38 percent on 2003 figures. FRANKFURT - Airport company Fraport reported on Tuesday that it achieved record group profits of EUR 136.4 million in 2004, up 18.4 percent on the year before.

The owner of the international Frankfurt airport along with several smaller airports in Germany and abroad, said earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) reached EUR 281 million, up 38 percent on 2003 figures.

The profits came on revenues of EUR 2 billion, a gain of 8.9 percent, Fraport said.

The company cautioned that it is expecting lower growth in 2005, with revenues foreseen rising by 3 per cent. The group profit should show a "clear increase", Fraport said.

Fraport is 100 percent owner of Frankfurt international airport while holding partial interests in three other smaller airports in Germany as well as in Lima, Peru. It also has a number of airport services subsidiaries operating in several locations in Europe, the United States and China.
