LAHORE - German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer ended his 10-day South Asian tour in Pakistan's second-largest city of Lahore on Friday.

Earlier, Fischer met in Islamabad with President Pervez Musharraf and discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the fight against terrorism.

About 2,000 German military troops are stationed in Afghanistan as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).

During his Asian visit Fischer traveled to India and China and was the first German foreign minister to officially visit Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

On Thursday Fischer said that he hoped talks between Pakistan and India would help solve their pending problems leading to peace and security in South Asia.

He departed in the afternoon for Berlin.
