E.ON launches 430 MW power plant in Slovakia
German energy giant E.ON said Monday it had launched a combined-cycle gas-fired power plant in western Slovakia with output reaching 430 megawatts.
Since the launch of construction in 2008, E.ON has invested 400 million euros ($516 million) in the plant, which will employ 30 people.
The power plant in the small town of Malzenice could provide energy for 600,000-900,000 households in the 5.5-million country, the company said in a press release.
E.ON is a 40-percent shareholder in the Zapadoslovenska energetika company supplying electricity to western Slovakia.
