Schopfheim (dpa) - A 60-year-old drunk not relishing the cold walk home in the south-west German town of Schopfheim drew a negative response from the local hospital when he appealed for a bed to sleep off his intoxication, police said Monday.

Hospital management called the police in nearby Loerrach, who provided the man with accommodation in the shape of a chilly and bare cell - without nurses in round-the-clock attendance.
