HAMBURG - Germany's right-wing National Democratic Party (NPD) has been prohibited by a Berlin court to publish a football World Cup planner with racist implications, the German football federation DFB said on Thursday.

The injunction was reached by the lawyer of black Germany defender Patrick Owomoyela, the target of racism on the front page.

The planner showed a man wearing a Germany jersey with the number 25 (Owomoyela's number in the team) and the slogan "White. Not simply a shirt colour. For a real NATIONAL team."

The judges agreed this front page was racist and insulting for Owomoyela and ordered the NPD to stop the publication, threatening a 250,000-euros fine.

Owomoyela and the DFB have also pressed criminal charges as they want all NPD advertising material for the World Cup planner seized. In addition, Owomoyela is seeking compensation in the case.
