CDs trigger bomb scare at German embassy in Copenhagen
A suspicious package delivered to the German embassy in Copenhagen caused a bomb scare Friday, with police and the military rushing to the scene, but in the end they found only a letter and three CDs.
"The suspicious, very suspicious, package was delivered by a normal postman with the mail. All the post packages are (put) through a metal detector and something beeped," Copenhagen police spokesman Lars Borg told AFP.
Embassy employees had taken the package out to the yard and called the police, who brought bomb-sniffing dogs with them, he said.
"One started barking so the police called for assistance from the army, (who) opened the package and found three CDs and a letter," Borg said.
The embassy was never fully evacuated, but people in offices overlooking the yard where the package was placed were briefly asked to leave.
