Berlin (dpa) - The elder brother of a German youth detained in Turkey on child-rape charges led a solidarity demonstration for Marco Weiss, 17, by 150 people in Berlin Saturday.

The group formed a picket at the Brandenburg Gate demanding "justice for Marco."

School pupil Weiss has admitted a sexual act with a 13-year-old British girl in a hotel room at a Turkish holiday resort, but claimed that it was consensual and he thought the girl was older.

Since his April 11 arrest, he has been remanded in custody as his trial in Antalya continues.

Sascha Weiss, 20, elder brother of Marco, organized the protest with other supporters of the family from Uelzen, south of Hamburg.

His lawyer Matthias Waldraff said, "The location is to show that this is a German national issue."
