Nuremberg, Germany (dpa) - German teenagers are very fond of off-beat body jewellery, according to a new survey by the Nuremberg-based Gfk Market Research conducted on behalf of the health magazine Apotheken Umschau.

Girls aged between 14 and 19 years find men with piercing very attractive. One-third of teenage boys felt the same about girls with body jewellery.

The survey also indicated that women change their opinion as they grew older. Just 11 per cent of 20 to 29-year-old women found pierced men attractive.

Their male counterparts differed with around one-quarter of the men questioned saying they found women with piercing attractive.

The survey questioned more than 1,000 women and 950 men aged 14 years and over.
