LONDON - World Cup organising committee president Franz Beckenbauer was welcomed to 10 Downing Street by British Prime Minister Tony Blair Thursday as the German football legend continued his tour to countries that have qualified for this summer's finals.

"Both teams (England and Germany) have a good chance of making it to the semi-finals," said Beckenbauer while Blair said both countries should top their respective groups and so avoid meeting each other at the round of 16 stage.

England is the 21st country on Beckenbauer's tour of the 31 countries that will participate in the June 9 to July 9 event alongside hosts Germany.
