INGOLSTADT - A farmer in Bavaria was killed by his wife, two daughters and son-in-law, who fed his dismembered remains to his own dogs, police in Germany said Monday.

Charges of murder and conspiring to commit murder were filed Monday against the 48-year-old wife, the 17-and 18-year-old daughters and the older girl's 20-year-old common-law husband, prosecutors in Ingolstadt said.

The 52-year-old victim vanished after visiting a village pub in October 2001. At the time, his wife said he had never come home, prompting her to report him missing.

Investigators said discrepancies in the family's statements led them to search the farmhouse and property last January, unearthing evidence leading to Monday's charges.
