Armed man takes hostages in German clothes shop: police
An armed man took an unknown number of hostages Tuesday in a branch of the H&M clothes store in the east German city of Leipzig, police said.
Police commandos evacuated a large part of the city centre after being called at around 12:30 pm (1030 GMT) and told that a man with a gun was threatening customers.
Several hostages were released unharmed, many of them suffering from shock, a police spokeswoman said.
