Kabul (dpa) - Afghan intelligence agents have arrested a teenage boy who allegedly detonated a roadside bomb that killed three German police officers on the eastern outskirts of Kabul last week, the intelligence agency's spokesman said on Wednesday.

"The one who has detonated the mine is a boy and has been arrested," Sayed Ansari, spokesman for the intelligence service National Directorate for Security (NDS) told dpa.

"He was arrested by our National Directorate of Security forces, two hours after the incident," Ansari said, adding, "He is currently under interrogation."

Ansari said that the boy "is around 15 or 16 years old, and this 15 or 16 year-old boy has detonated the explosive."

Three police officers who were attached to the German embassy in Kabul were killed when their vehicle was blown up by a powerful roadside bomb explosion last Wednesday.

"He is under interrogation and we will let you know regarding the outcome, once we get it," Ansari added.
