100 Germans share big lottery jackpot

6 January 2004, POTSDAM - Germany's weekly lottery jackpot of almost EUR 10.5 million was broken on Wednesday, but in an unusual outcome, the wealth will have to be shared among 100 persons, state lottery officials said. The company said on Thursday that in a special game called "L-Dorado" which is only offered in the eastern German state of Brandenburg, 100 persons shared in a single winning ticket. Per person, the lottery booty amounts to EUR 104,852, the Brandenburg Lotto GmbH lotter company said.
