Detailed Info: Perhaps because of its location in the former American sector of Berlin, the Free University has a broad North American slant, with several disciplines focusing on intercultural studies. The university offers courses in biology, chemistry, medicine and psychology, as well as liberal arts subjects such as education, philosophy, history and cultural studies. There are law, business and physics students here as well. The university has about 34,000 students.
