Two neo-Nazis jailed for beating up Liberian 06/07/2007 00:00

Magdeburg, Germany (dpa) - Two neo-Nazis who bashed a Liberian because of the colour of his skin and kicked a policeman who came to his aid in Germany were jailed Friday for 42 and 30 months.
The May 2005 assault in the eastern city of Halberstadt shocked Germans, but at a lower-court trial, one of the men, 31, was let off with a suspended penalty.
The state court in Magdeburg ruled Friday on appeal that both men must serve the time, and added six months to the term of a defendant aged 26. They were convicted of dangerous assault and resisting a police officer.
Both victims were clubbed with bottles and kicked as they lay on the ground.
