Psychologists set up stalkers' advice bureau in Berlin 30/04/2008 00:00
A unique advice bureau in Berlin has been recently set up and is to give stalkers psychologists' help to stop their behaviour and cease molesting others.
Berlin -- Psychologists are setting up Germany's first advice bureau for stalkers, and are counting on police to refer "clients" who cannot stop themselves from molesting other adults.
Wolf Ortiz-Mueller, head of the bureau, said the service was unique in Germany and believed it would indirectly help victims.
The Stop Stalking office opened in Berlin last week and will employ five psychologists and social workers, who will offer up to 16 counseling sessions to help stalkers realize how damaging their obsession is.
Constantly accosting or phoning a person against their will was made a crime in Germany a year ago.
