Transocean wriggles to offset oil slick consequences

Swiss-based offshore oil giant, Transocean, tells its clients they must honour contracts to hire the companys drilling platforms, even while the US administration imposes a moratorium on the industry in the US Gulf of Mexico. Transocean fails to cap its liability using an old maritime law as the oil and gas sector weighs up its commercial exposure to the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe.
