Swiss study links aircraft noise to heart attacks

Individuals exposed to repeated noise from air traffic have a higher risk of dying from heart attacks, says a study by the University of Bern. Noise levels above 60 decibels are suspected of having detrimental affects on the body's nervous and hormonal systems. Study leader, Professor Matthias Egger feels that the research forms the basis for further legislation to tackle the issue.
