Geneva-based oil trader Vitol hires a former British cabinet minister to provide consultancy services. The firm says Lord Malloch-Brown will advise on geo-political matters and aid its expansion in Africa. Rebuffing criticism, the former UK government politician and onetime assistant to United Nations secretary-general Kofi Annan insists no conflict of interest stems from his past roles at Westminster or at the UN.
