Over 100 people are evacuated after a chair-lift broke down in Grindelwald

A total of 150 people had to be evacuated by helicopter when a chair-lift broke down in Grindelwald in the Swiss canton of Berne Sunday.

Two mountain rescue helicopters were called in at midday after the hydraulic brakes on the lift were found to be faulty, the Swiss wire agency ATS/SDA reported.

It took an hour to winch the skiers to safety.
