Russia bans some Nestle baby products: report
Russia's consumer protection agency said on Thursday it had barred a range of baby products manufactured by Swiss food giant Nestle from entering the country, the Interfax news agency reported.
The world's biggest food company was refused permission "to register a series of products for babies," Lioubov Voropaieva, spokeswoman for the consumer agency Rospotrebnadzor, was quoted as saying by Interfax.
The agency did not provide any further details on which products were barred or why and Nestle said it was unable to confirm the report.
"We can't comment on the report that Rospotrebnadzor refused to let in children's food, produced in the factory in Finland, as we have not received official notification on the matter," Interfax quoted Nestle Russia spokeswoman Marina Zibareva as saying.
