Lausanne bids to expand its sports capital status

Lausanne hopes to build on its reputation as an international sporting centre by creating an academy for related research, linked to the 50 international sports federations based in the city. Federal, cantonal and municipal politicians, along with the head of the International Olympic Committee, headquartered in the Vaud capital, meet to discuss the plan, which includes the creation of a special secretariat.
