Israel's Netanyahu, Iran's Rouhani due at Davos forum: organisers
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iran's President Hassan Rouhani, whose countries are arch-foes, are both set to attend the World Economic Forum this month, organisers said Friday.
WEF spokeswoman Michele Mischler confirmed to AFP that both leaders would be at the January 22-25 annual gathering of top politicians and business leaders in the plush Swiss ski resort of Davos.
Mischler would not say on which dates the two leaders would be in Davos.
The WEF is scheduled to unveil the guest list next week.
This year's edition of the forum, the 44th, is scheduled to take place at the same time as a peace conference on Syria in the Swiss cities of Montreux and Geneva, brokered by the United Nations and Arab League.
There has been bitter debate over a potential role at the talks for Iran, a staunch ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, with key Israeli ally the United States among the most vocal critics.
