Iran's chief negotiator Saeed Jalili said Tuesday that world powers and Iran agreed only to further "talks based on cooperation" and that everything else was "not true," suggesting disagreement with the EU's top envoy's declaration.

"The only outcome of our talks today was the agreement we reached to organise a set of talks based on cooperation... and anything other than this has no value," said Jalili.

"I heard some other comments have been made, and that is not true," he added.

Earlier, Ashton said talks with Iran would resume in Istanbul where "we plan to discuss practical ideas and ways of cooperating towards the resolution of our core concerns about the nuclear issue."
