Helicopter carrying five crashes on Swiss alps
A helicopter carrying five people crashed Thursday in the Swiss alps, Swiss police said.
"We received a call for help around 12:30 pm," said a police spokesman from Vaud canton.
"Rescue services are on the way but we have no news about the passengers," he added.
The accident happened on western Switzerland's Diablerets glacier, located at about 3,000 metres (10,000 feet) above sea level, said police.
It marks the second air accident in less than a week in the Swiss alps.
On Friday, a private plane crashed in the canton of Valais, at a similar altitude. The pilot and four French passengers were dead by the time rescuers arrived on site.
