Gaming graphics aid coronary detection breakthrough

A health breakthrough at the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne EPFL will provide doctors with a highly detailed 3D map of a patients cardiovascular system, from which they will be able to predict the risk of coronary artery disease for an individual. Using imaging techniques acquired from the video gaming industry, the technology is already cheaper to use than the less-efficient CT scanner.
