Foreigner growth outstrips overall Swiss population rise

The growth rate of foreign residents in Switzerland expands at double that of the overall population, figures issued by the federal statistics department show. The number of non-Swiss living in the country rises to more than 1.8 million, although a University of Neuchatel expert, who highlights the polarized nature of immigration picture, notes that much of the growth came from workers on short-term permits.
