Expert warns of increase in mercury contamination

At a federal institute of technology seminar in Lausanne this week, Lyatt Jaegl, a professor from the University of Washington details how mercury continues to contaminate the environment. Mostly a by-product of coal-burning, the heavy metal accumulates in oceans, lakes and predators at the top of the underwater food chain, a trend that is expected to worsen.
