Insurance group Suva releases a study suggesting that around 9,500 people are bitten by dogs every year in Switzerland. However, the figures are based on an estimation of cases that the public fails to report, an extrapolation that prompts concern from the Swiss Animal Protection group. Meanwhile the federal veterinary office calls for doctors to report all cases of dog bites to the respective authorities.
