Chinas consumer prices rise, retail sales and exports up

China’s consumer price index rose 3.1 percent in May compared to a year earlier, above the government’s target of 3 percent. The inflation indicator’s rise was accompanied by increases in retail sales, which rose more than 18 percent in May, while exports went up by 45 percent.
