What was your first impression of Switzerland?
Geographical beauty, very friendly people and a fascinating international community.
What do you think of the food?
Excellent choice at different levels. Slightly more expensive than in Germany.
What do you think of the shopping in Switzerland?
Very good at all levels.
What do you appreciate about living in Switzerland?
Many things, especially a political system of direct participation of people, legal security, individual responsibility at a relatively high degree, a good mixture of individual freedom and responsibility.
What do you find most frustrating about living in Switzerland?
No idea, at a first glance.
What puzzles you about Switzerland and what do you miss since you’ve moved here?
What puzzles me: A society that practices freedom and responsibility to a large extent. And that the country is ruled by seven people of four different political parties and it works.
I do not miss anything in particular.
How does the quality of life in Switzerland compare to the quality of life in other countries that you’ve lived in?
I have a slight individual preference for Switzerland in relation to other European countries, if we’re talking about everyday life.
If you could change anything about Switzerland, what would it be?
A stricter application of laws in relation to criminal offences.
What advice would you give to a newcomer?
Look around with an open spirit and talk to as many different people as possible.
