What was your first impression of Switzerland?
Peaceful, clean, a little calmer than elsewhere

What do you think of the food?
In comparison to Germany there are hardly any differences for me.

What do you think of the shopping in Switzerland?
Grocery shopping is fun; the quality and choice are above average. I greatly appreciate the online shopping!

What do you appreciate about living in Switzerland?
The infrastructure is very well-managed even for mums with strollers, like-a-bikes and rucksacks; you will almost get everywhere in a good amount of time.

What do you find most frustrating about living in Switzerland?
Things often don’t move as fast as you would like them to.

What puzzles you about Switzerland and what do you miss since you’ve moved here?
Even after nearly five years I am still astonished that people you don’t know greet you with a friendly “Grüezi” on the street. In regards to missing something, I’ve found a replacement for almost everything!

How does the quality of life in Switzerland compare to the quality of life in other countries that you’ve lived in?
The quality of life is very high: you can be up in the mountains, out on the lakes or in midst of cultural surroundings in very little time.

If you could change anything about Switzerland, what would it be?
I wish it sometimes were a little less democratic; finding a consensus takes a lot of time!

What advice would you give to a newcomer?
Be open! Be patient! And appreciate what you have here in Switzerland!
