High earners live in subsidised housing 23/05/2008 00:00
The government body is calling for an overhaul of the subsidised housing system.
23 May 2008
THE NETHERLANDS - The Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis says inequality is rife in the house rental market, with many high earners living in rent-assisted accommodation ear-marked for low earners.
The government body is calling for an overhaul of the subsidised housing system and for measures to encourage more house owners to rent out their properties.
Each year, the state invests EUR 14 billion in subsidised housing, aimed at keeping rents affordable for low-income earners.
But the system often has a contrary effect, as there is no monitoring of the tenants' income.
As a result, high earners occupying rent-assisted accommodation have little incentive to move to a house or flat where the rent is not subsidised.

Westlandgracht in Amsterdam is full of these bastards, they themselves live with their partners in our subsidized apartments while renting these places out. Nice work if you can get it.

I was ripped off by a guy who rented me a room for higher than the monthly rent, he locked all doors and lived somewhere else and still complained about the dust on the carpet when he came around.
My question is simple: How do you denounce them?

If they are renting their subsidised apartment you can report them to the Gemeente. I was think of setting up a forum for people to anomously report these miscreants. Would be good to nail some of these fucking
Dutchman.
