The police detained Monday in Portocolom, Majorca, a 31-year-old British citizen who has been accused of ill-treating his Polish wife, whom he allegedly kept locked up for two years.

MAJORCA - The police detained Monday in Portocolom, Majorca, a 31-year-old British citizen who has been accused of ill-treating his Polish wife, whom he allegedly kept locked up for two years.
The mother of the victim filed a complaint with the Polish police that was handed to local authorities through the Polish Embassy in Madrid.
The accused, who has an Italian father and Arabic mother, was born in Germany but holds a British passport.
The couple is reported to have a child that was born during the two years the wife was allegedly held captive by her husband. The baby has been allegedly used by the husband to prevent his wife from leaving the country.
The man is being held at a police station in the city of Manacor.
