Double exhibition at the City Hall of Brussels and the Félicien Rops museum of Namur is organised on the occasion of the Czech presidency of the European Union. The show presents works by amongst others František Drtikol, Karel Hlavacek, František Kobliha, Jan Konpek, Frantisek Kupka, Gabriel Max, Alfons Mucha, Jan Preisler, Max Pirner, Jakub Schineder, Max Svabinsky, Josef Vachal and Franz von Bayros. The exhibition deals with the malaise of certain artists, especially from Bohemia, at the end of the 19th century. They oppose to a society that is too materialistic and give way to their inner demons, feeding on apocalyptic fantasies.
