Dear Experts
My Florida license has expired in America. because I am in a rush to join my Belgian wife I may not have time to renew my Florida drivers license. will this cause a lot of problems in obtaining my Belgian license. also, is the test in English. My Dutch is very poor............thanks
Bill Hancock
Dear Bill,
We suggest that you renew your license before you come over to Belgium. If your driver’s license has expired, then it will not be accepted in exchange for a Belgian driver’s license. In practice, this would mean that you will have to follow a theoretical course and will have to take an examination in order to obtain a Belgian driver’s license. The examination is in Dutch.
Best regards, Katrien Matthias
