The prosecutor in Namur guaranteed that he will show zero tolerance towards aggressive or violent behavior on trains after SNCB controllers complained about their safety.

Several representatives of the SNCB staff presented themselves at the office of the prosecutor in Namur to express their concerns in the face of growing aggression and violence on board Belgian trains.

Steps will be taken to improve communication between controllers and the police. Furthermore, violent encounters, verbal or physical, will systematically be reported to the prosecutor's office.

Labour unions left their meeting satisfied, saying that the prosecutor had also told them he would see to it that open cases are resolved.
