BRUSSELS - Are Brussels' residents proud of their city and do they appreciate tourism? These are precisely the questions a study, ordered by Evelyne Huytebroeck (ECOLO, cultural and touristic affairs) try to answer.

The telephone survey questioned a representative sample of 803 people. The results showed that about 84 percent of the inhabitants of the Belgian Capital say they are proud their city.

What's more, two in three interviewees think that tourism has a positive influence on Brussels. Only 5 percent of the people asked voiced a negative outlook on tourism and its influence on the capital, while 26 percent declared they were indifferent to tourism.
