BRUSSELS — The wage gap between men and women remains at about 5 percent, consultancy bureau SD Worx said on Thursday.

However, it said the wage gap between male and female workers younger than 35 is smaller, newspaper 'Het Gazet van Antwerpen' reported.

SD Worx said the gap in wages between men and women older than 45 rises above 10 percent.

However, figures from 2005 indicate that the average discrepancy in wages between the sexes is 4.7 percent.

Independent of age, SD Worx said the biggest wage differences are witnessed in sales, finance and administration, scientific research, logistics and consultancy work.
