Vlerick firmly established among Europe's top management programmes
The latest Financial Times Ranking for Executive Education reinforces Vlerick Business School's position as an outstanding partner for management programmes. [Contributed by Vlerick Business School]
In the Benelux, Vlerick is and remains the absolute top school. But Vlerick has also succeeded in strengthening its position in the top group among the 6,000 business schools active on the worldwide stage, as well as within Europe. The school has risen five places worldwide, climbing from 39 to 34. In Europe, Vlerick is ranked number 17, rising three places from last year.
The FT ranking for Executive Education consists on the one hand of open management programmes (4 – 20 day programmes for executives and entrepreneurs) and on the other hand of customised programmes (internal training programme pathways within companies, for specific target groups with unique needs).
Programmes with impact
Vlerick owes this positive result to the fact that it has thoroughly and consistently opted to continue creating impactful management programmes. "The ranking clearly shows that almost all the criteria on which we are making strong headway are criteria where the unique impact plays a role," says Director General Patrick De Greve.
"Our participants are extremely satisfied with the practically applicable skills and concepts that they are able to implement from their first day back on the work floor. Our initial guidance and follow-up after the programme are also highly appreciated. The fact that we are making good progress on these specific criteria demonstrates that the expertise of the faculty and programme managers in this area is paying off. Finally, the best proof of our participants' and companies' satisfaction is their positive references and the fact that our customers keep coming back."

Positive future prospects
Hannelore, together with Alexandre Segers, Business Manager Customised Programmes, has a positive future outlook. Hannelore: "The innovations we have introduced over the years, such as a personalised learning pathway and international cooperations for new top programmes will only improve these results." Alexandre adds: "The results also encourage us to further increase the impact, through solutions for e-learning and blended learning."
Last year, a total of 8,459 entrepreneurs and managers completed programmes at Vlerick Business School. Some 3,796 chose one of the 69 open programmes. Vlerick also developed 140 customised programmes specifically for 4,663 participants at international and local companies, including 3M, AGC, Aliaxis, Besix, Bostik, Carrefour, DSM, Etex, Janssen, KBC, Mondelez, Nestlé, Rabobank, Tenax, Umicore, USG People and Vesuvius.
