The French rock star who previously planned to flee France and move to Switzerland to pay less taxes has now made a naturalisation request in Belgium based on his father's Belgian roots.

But details of his confidential file were leaked and the president of the naturalisation chamber, Herman De Croo (VLD), is clear: Liesbeth Van der Auwera "violated regulations by not respecting her confidentiality agreement".

"I have had more then 80,000 requests across my desk and I have never revealed thier content", De Croo said. "I have not decided whether or not I will sanction her", De Croo said. "She could be suspended from all parliamentary positions in which she signed a confidentiality agreement and 20 percent of her salary could be deducted for three months."
