BRUSSELS – The Belgian Red Cross has made an urgent appeal for blood donors after a six percent drop in reserves.

The charity has warned there has been a significant fall in all blood stocks, but in particular in the A and O groups.

The Red Cross has now issued an urgent appeal for donors, asking people to go to transfusion centres or mobile blood banks.

To become a blood donor you must be between 18 and 65 and weigh over 50 kg.
