BRUSSELS - Eighteen people were injured on Tuesday when two trams crashed in the Brussels suburbs.
A tram number 44 crashed into the back of a tram 39 on Avenue de Tervuren in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre.
Three ambulances were called to scene of the accident, which caused serious damage to both trams.
Emergency teams had to help free the driver of the tram 44 who was trapped in his cab.
Brussels public transport operator STIB said the cause of the accident appears to have been a technical failure.
